How to organize usernames and passwords using LastPass extension.
This tutorial teaches you how to organize Usernames and Passwords using LastPass browser extension. LastPass is also available android platform.
LastPass will help you to stop wasting time writing, remembering, and resetting passwords. Only remember one master password, and keep the rest locked up and easy-to-find in the LastPass password manager.
1.Add LastPass browser extension.
To add LastPass to your browser, click customize and control on google chrome, select more tools from the drop down menu and select “Extensions”. Alternatly, click this link. In the case of internet explorer, select “add-ons”. In different browsers, you can add the extension in a different path.
On extension page, click “Get more extension” to add LastPass to your browser.
Type “LastPass” on the search box and press “Enter”. The first search result will be “LastPass Free Password Manager”. Click on “Add” button.
Your browser will start to download extension file. Once download file, a small extension box will prompt. On extension box, Click Add extension to add LastPass password manager to your browser.
2.Create LastPass account.
Once you added the extension, select the extension and create an account in LastPass by adding email and Master password. Only you know your master password, so only you can access your information in your encrypted vault – not even LastPass can. All of your data is sealed with AES-256 bit encryption, salted hashing, and PBKDF2 SHA-256.
Once you finish sign up, select the LastPass browser extension and log into the vault.
Select “My Vault” to add and manage sites like Gmail, Yahoo etc. and secure notes like insurance cards, Memberships, WiFi Password etc.
3. Organize Usernames and passwords.
To Add a username and password, click on add site button.
Add site your name will automatically add the site URL for you. enter site password to store and select save to store your password.
To access your site, click on the site box: it will redirect you to the authenticated page without typing username and password.
