How to capture selected area of a screen using LightShot utility

LightShot is a screen capture program for Windows and the Mac OS X, works like a pair of scissors from Windows Vista and Windows 7.  The program replaces the handler buttons PrtScr by default and captures it for its launch. The user can click and highlight its interesting area of the screen. This guide is all about How to capture selected area of a screen using Lightshot utility.

This guide includes 2 main steps.

1.Download and install LightShot.
2.Capture selected area of a screen.

 

1.Download and install LightShot.

Download LightShot utility from http://app.prntscr.com/en/index.html.

Read the documentation and features of utility. Run the setup and install to the preferred location of your computer.

Click Finish to close the setup and start LightShot on your computer.

2.Capture selected area of a screen.

Make sure that LightShot is running on background by checking notification area icon.

To start the capture, just hit the PrntScr hotkey on your keyboard. Once the area is selected there is a set of buttons to perform various actions with the picture. Possible actions include edit, save, copy to clipboard and publication on the Internet including social networks. Published images will be located at prntscr.com. The user has the option to register online prntscr.com and preserve the history of your screenshots.

Lightshot also supports a set of hotkeys for all operations. The most convenient are standard Ctrl+ C copy to clipboard and Ctrl+ S to save
