How to screen record using Mac and Windows

How to screen record on Mac using Quick Time Player

Apple has added the screen recording feature on Quick Time Player from Snow Leopard version. It helps you to record your screen and make you simple video guides. Follow the steps below to your screen recording gets done.

Step 1: Launch Quick Time Player from application folder, click files from menu and select New Screen Recording.

Step 2: On the screen recording window, you can select to use internal microphone. Also, there is an option to show mouse click in recording.

Step 3: Once you have finished with your preferences, click the Record button to start to start record your screen. Now, a Quick Time pop-up will ask you whether to click on screen to record entire screen or drag select desired area to record.

Step 4: Once you have finished the capturing, click stop button in the menu bar. Then you can preview and save the captured video to preferred location.

Tips: You can take the screenshot on Mac using following methods:

To capture entire screen: Press Command + Shift + 3
To capture a specific area: Press Command + Shift + 4 and click and drag desired area to capture.
To capture a window screenshot: Press Command + Shift + 4 and Spacebar then select desired window to capture.

How to screen record on Windows 10

Windows 10 has its own but-in screen recorder. this tool is desired to record game plays. Even though, we can use it for other screen recording purposes. Follow the steps below to record your screen on Windows system.

Step 1: Open up the pre-installed Xbox app on your Windows 10, hit the Window Key + G on your keyboard and confirm to open the app. The confirmation dialog only ask at first time of app usage.

Step 2: On recording bar, click on start recording or press Windows + Alt + R on key board to start recording. To customize the video settings, use the game DVR option after sign in to the Xbox app. You can choose different quality video recording and maximum clip length on settings.

Step 3: Once you have finished with recording, click stop button or press Windows + Alt + R on keyboard. Exported video will be stored in MP4 format.

Tips: You can take the screenshot on Windows using Prt sc button.
